This CD-ROM makes available four key futures texts by Dr. Richard Slaughter, along with book reviews and interpretive essays:
- Recovering the Future (1988)
- The Foresight Principle (1995)
- Futures for the Third Millennium (1999)
- Futures Beyond Dystopia (2004).
Trace the threads of foresight, wisdom and cultural transformation in the creation of a sustainable society through these four books by Dr. Richard Slaughter, a leading social futurist from Australia. Recovering the Future sets out foundational themes: education, the futures field, cultural criticism and worldview issues. The Foresight Principle views these themes through a prism of cultural recovery, institutional foresight and nurturing a forward view. Next, Futures for the Third Millennium provides critical futures frameworks, containing depeth and breadth. Finally, Futures Beyond Dystopia, critiques pop future work and illustrates how "integral approaches that 'transcend and include' dynamics can renew interdisciplinary problem-solving. Towards a Wise Culture CD-Rom is a definitive library for students of futures studies who are aiming to cultivate a fluency with futures concepts, rather than just gain an empirical introduction futures research methods.
This item has been specially ordered from Australia and is not widely available in the U.S. |
